All I really wanted for my birthday was quiet, peace, and a little space where nobody needed anything from me. Most days, I’m constantly being asked to do something, remember something, buy something, or make a decision. I finally realized I had to stop waiting for someone else to notice I was tired and create the break for myself. I was lucky enough to have my friend meet me there, and what made it special was that neither of us expected the other to perform. We could talk, be quiet, wander, eat, shop, ride horses, visit a winery, and apparently spend a little time frolicking like two women with absolutely no responsibilities. 😂 This birthday reminded me that peace is something I have to be intentional about. Sometimes you have to clear the space yourself, get a little whimsical, and give yourself permission to simply be for a while.
